Getting Started

The 4D Nucleome Data Portal hosts data generated by the 4DN Network and other reference nucleomics data sets, and an expanding tool set for open data processing and visualization.

For sequencing experiments, raw data are collected from data generating labs. The data is openly processed at the data portal with open source software, open workflow descriptions, and careful logging of the workflow run. If a processing pipeline is not yet available for a given experiment type, then processed results may be collected from data generating labs, with a lab provided workflow description.

Results are organized by experiments, and replicate experiment sets. The Browse page is the main entry point to explore the replicate experiment sets. You can narrow down the experiments using the category filters on the sidebar and/or via keyword search on the search bar.

You can find more information on the data model we use to curate biological samples, experiments, and results; our open data processing infrastructure and existing data processing pipelines; the organization of the 4DN Network and the 4DN DCIC; and more at the help pages. If you have any questions, please contact the DCIC at support@4dnucleome.org.
