HMS-Wu Lab-BPFPALM-Vutara 352-old Eddie_Nir_2018

released

This is the Vutara 352 microscope that was used for the acquisition of the image datasets published in the Nir et al., 2018 (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pgen.1007872). This microscope was retired and is no longer in operation. The key feature of this system is the combination of a BIPLANE system with Fluorescence Photoactivation Localization Microscopy (FPALM) as described in Juette et al., 2008 (https://doi.org/10.1038/nmeth.1211) and in Juette et al., 2013 (https://doi.org/10.1063/1.4803538). Missing from this description are: 1) AOTF used to control the laser power and synchronize sample illumination with exposure of the sCMOS camera; 2) vibrating despeckling apparatus used in association with the the multimode optical fiber used to couple the illumination light path with the microscope stand.
